Chicago Cubs add AAPI Heritage Celebration to 2024 Promotional Calendar

by -

CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs will host a new ballpark celebration during the 2024 regular season in recognition of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) heritage in May. This new ballpark celebration will join the annual Pride Celebration in June and the Hispanic and Latino Heritage Celebration in September.

“Our heritage ballpark celebrations will be centered around recognizing and honoring the culture, diversity and achievements from these respective cultures,” said Cubs Senior Vice President of Marketing Jen Martindale. “We hope all fans will join us at the ballpark for these celebrations.”

During AAPI Heritage Month, fans are invited to Wrigley Field Sunday, May 19, to celebrate the contributions of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States with special entertainment, music and other recognitions. To attend the celebration, fans are encouraged to purchase the AAPI Heritage Celebration Special Ticket Offer which includes a special-edition T-shirt featuring Cubs players Seiya Suzuki and Shōta Imanaga and a ticket to the game.

For National Hispanic Heritage Month, the Cubs are inviting fans out to the ballpark Monday, September 16, for a festive and fun celebration honoring Hispanic and Latino heritage. As part of the annual celebration, fans can get their hands on a special-edition cap featuring the flag from Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico or Venezuela through the Hispanic and Latino Heritage Special Ticket Offer. The flags selected represent the heritage of current Cubs players and coaches.

Cubs fans interested in attending the AAPI Heritage Celebration or Hispanic and Latino Heritage Celebration must secure the Special Ticket Offer associated with the ballpark celebration in order to receive the corresponding promotional item. Additional details will be shared ahead of each ballpark celebration on what fans can expect.
