Cubs News: Heyward to live in Arizona to work on his hitting |
Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward had a brutal year offensively after signing his mammoth $184 milllion contract with the Chicago Cubs during last offseason.
However, Heyward will try to rebound this upcoming season as he will work with hitting coach John Mallee and Eric Hinske this offseason in Arizona. Heyward will live in Arizona this offseason to get some early work in at the Mesa Camp. This is a promising sign if the Cubs can get a little better production from their starting right fielder next season. He struggled mightily at the plate this season batting .230 with seven homers and only 49 RBIs. However, his defense never wavered as he was solid throughout the season as he won his third straight Gold Glove award and fourth overall. He became the youngest outfielder in Cubs history to win the award. For his career, he is a .262 hitter with 104 homers and 401 RBIs.
