Cubs News: Jack Sanborn injury update

by - Senior Editor -

Chicago Bears linebacker Jack Sanborn, a fan favorite on the team's defense, recently shared an injury update as the countdown to the 2023 training camp begins.

Sanborn, an undrafted free agent from last year's rookie class, suffered an ankle injury in December, which limited his participation during the Bears' OTAs this spring.

Sanborn said on ESPN 1000 Bears Weekly that he's 100% from his ankle injury and will be ready to go for training camp.

"I'm very comfortable where I'm at and I'm ready to hit the ground running," he said.

Although Sanborn is confident in his recovery, the competition for playing time at the linebacker position remains fierce. The arrivals of T.J. Edwards, Tremaine Edwards, and Noah Sewell have added depth and talent to the Bears' roster.

Sanborn will need to display his abilities consistently and make a strong impression during training camp and preseason games to solidify his status as the starting strong-side linebacker.
