The Chicago Bears have traded with the Rams for former Pro Bowl guard Jonah Jackson in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick on Tuesday.
The Bears will taking on his three-year, $51 million contract, which he signed last offseason. He is expected to make $9 million this season. He only played in four games last season as he battled injuries. The cap hit for the Bears this season is a hefty $15 million. For this large amount invested, look for Jackson to be the starting left guard in 2025. He played four seasons with the Lions, so Ben Johnson is very familiar with him and knows what he brings to the table. He was selected as a 2022 Pro Bowl player as an injury replacement. He was a third-round pick out of Ohio State in the 2020 NFL Draft. The trade for the 28-year-old can not be official until March 12. The Bears traded away Justin Fields for a sixth-round draft pick, so basically, the Bears traded Fields for some offensive line help.
