Cubs make decision on Brandon Morrow |
Some guys are just bit with the injury bug.
The Chicago Cubs have released veteran reliever Brandon Morrow according to multiple reports. Morrow was dealing with a minor nerve procedure and it would have taken time for him to ramp up so it didn't make sense for the Cubs to keep him around in the shortened 60-game season. It was going to be a long shot that Morrow would make the roster after signing this past offseason to a minor-league deal. According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, Morrow plans to pitch next season. The 35-year old last threw in the majors during the first half of the 2018 season with the Cubs posting a 1.47 ERA and 22 saves during that span. In total, he appeared in only 35 games for the Northsiders after signing a two-year, $21 million contract.
