Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo won the 2017 Roberto Clemente Award on Friday which goes to the top humanitarian and community honor in major league baseball.

Rizzo has donated over four million dollars and worked tirelessly with his Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation since 2012 that helps raise money for pediatric cancer research and supporting families with cancer.

"To win this is amazing," Rizzo said during Friday's press conference before game three of the World Series. "That's the impact we want to make. A lot of organizations do amazing work, and we want to impact families directly, and this foundation, that's what the staple is.

"It's insane over the last few years how many people have come up to me and said how we've helped someone's friend of a friend of a friend, and it gets back to me. To touch lives like that, it's something you can't explain."

Rizzo is the third Cubs player to win the award joining Sammy Sosa (1998) and Rick Sutcliffe (1987).
