Cubs News: David Ross updates Javy Baez's hamstring injury |
The Chicago Cubs will be missing one of their top players against the Braves again as Javy 'El Mago' Baez will be out of the lineup for the second straight game because of a hamstring issue.
Cubs manager David Ross spoke to the media during pregame and said that the team is taking a cautious approach to his left hamstring tightness. “We want Javy to be healthy," Ross said. "We are still really early in the season, so pushing him too hard doesn’t make a lot of sense. But if he feels good and he bounces back and all the tests (are negative), we’ll push forward.” The Cubs are still deciding whether to put him on the injured list or letting him go through daily treatment. Ross said, "To be determined" when discussing Baez's short-term playing future.
