Solid move by the Reds.

The Reds have signed former Cubs infielder Jeimer Candelario to a three-year, $45 million deal, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Additionally, the reported contract includes a club option for another $15 million in 2027, providing flexibility for the team in the future.

Candelario had an impressive 2023 season, playing 144 games and achieving a batting line of .251/.336/.471.

His performance included a career-high 22 home runs, 70 RBIs, and eight stolen bases.

The 30-year-old infielder is versatile, playing both third base and first base.

Candelario has hit .243/.325/.414 with 88 home runs and 318 RBIs in 746 games over his eight-year career.

This signing is another move that the Reds have made this offseason to bolster their team to compete in the National League Central division in the upcoming year and beyond.
