WATCH: Anthony Rizzo crushes mammoth 449-foot homer with Yankees |
Former Cubs standout Anthony Rizzo didn't wait long to make a statement for his new team.
On Friday night, Rizzo crushed a 449-foot homer in the sixth inning against the Marlins to put the Yankees up 1-0. What a way to make a first impression with your new team.
It was the longest homer by a Yankee lefty since Ji-Man Choi on July 5, 2017 against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Additionally, it was the fifth-longest homer by Rizzo tracked by Statcast and the longest since his 472-foot blast in 2019.
