WATCH: Avila crushes his first homer as a Cub

Newcomer Alex Avila hit his first homer as a Cubs player on Saturday afternoon against the Washington Nationals.

It was a two-run blast that scored Ben Zobrist and gave the Cubs a 4-1 lead in the first inning. It was his 12th homer of the season.

The Cubs now have 23 RBI and 71 RBI at the catcher position this season.
