OMAHA, Neb. — Making his second rehab appearance with the Triple-A Iowa Cubs, Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward crushed a home run of 400-plus feet on Thursday. Putting the Cubs up 1-0 atop the Omaha Storm Chasers in the top of the third, Heyward went yard at Werner Park.
Storm Chasers starter Carlos Hernandez gave up the the solo shot on a heater thrown right down the middle, with "J-Hey" getting underneath the pitch and sending it over the center field wall. Heyward is currently on the 10-day injured list and working to return from a left hamstring strain.
