WATCH: Javier Baez breaks scoreless tie with 409-foot two-run jack |
NEW YORK — Breaking a scoreless tie at Citi Field on Tuesday, Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez drilled a 409-foot jack out to right-center. The two-run shot off New York Mets starter Taijuan Walker put the Cubs up 2-0 in the top of the third at Citi Field.
Baez's 15th long ball of the season, the 409-footer plated third baseman Patrick Wisdom, who singled in the previous at-bat. The dinger left the bat at 109.1 mph and 21 degrees and increased Baez's RBI total to 42. "El Mago" took Walker deep on a 93.1-mph sinker. It's Tuesday, celebrate accordingly. ??#CubTogether pic.twitter.com/2mpLvYBFQC Javy bringing the energy ?? pic.twitter.com/LGXnAKzHxL 15th home run of the year for @javy23baez! #CubTogether #Cubs 2 @ #Mets 0 [T3-1o]:
