WATCH: Patrick Wisdom continues to rake, crushes 422-foot two-run dinger |
SAN FRANCISCO — Continuing to earn his keep in his first season with the Chicago Cubs, third baseman Patrick Wisdom powered out his second home run of Sunday's game, giving him a club record six home runs in his first eight starts as a Cub. Wisdom's seventh dinger of the season, the game-tying two-run jack traveled 422 feet out to center field at Oracle Park.
The two-out long ball plated center fielder Ian Happ and evened the score at 3-3. Entering Sunday, San Francisco Giants starter Johnny Cueto had given up just two homers all year, yet Wisdom, who powered out a solo bomb earlier in the game, collected his second round-tripper of the contest off Cueto with a fourth-inning jack on an 87.6-mph slider. .@PatrickWisdom5 has SIX home runs in his last seven games. #CubTogether pic.twitter.com/4FjuORVOzc Most home runs in first 8 starts as a Cub: #Cubs 3 @ #SFGiants 3 [T4-2o]:
