WATCH: Patrick Wisdom smashes 423-foot blast off Wrigley Field batter's eye |
CHICAGO — Barreling his second home run of the season off the batter's eye at Wrigley Field, Chicago Cubs third baseman Patrick Wisdom hammered a 423-foot jack at Wrigley Field on Monday. The two-out dinger came in the bottom of the fourth and put the Cubs up 3-1 over the San Diego Padres.
Starter Chris Paddack was taken deep on a 93-mph four-seamer, which Wisdom scorched off the bat at 105.5 mph. The towering dinger carried out to straightaway center field with a steep launch angle of 38 degrees, increasing Wisdom's 2021 RBI total to two. Wisdom's jack followed a two-run bomb, which also caromed off the batter's eye, hit by Cubs shortstop Javier Baez earlier in the game. .@PatrickWisdom5 goes hunting for fastballs and comes up big.#CubTogether pic.twitter.com/FUPyAvS4nO Knowledge is power. #Padres 1 @ #Cubs 3 [B4-2o]:
