WATCH: Rizzo: 'If eating McDonald's is embarrassing, you might not be American.' |
In response to being captured by TMZ cameras partying and dining at McDonald's in the nation's capital with his teammates, Chicago Cubs slugger Anthony Rizzo was asked by the press about whether or not he felt like an actual celebrity after receiving paparazzi attention.
"It's really part of the gig," Rizzo said. "You understand that wherever we go, you're going to be watched. You're representing more than yourself. There's a difference between having fun like we did and acting like an idiot." Following the Cubs' 5-2 loss to the Washington Nationals on Saturday night, Rizzo and his teammates decided to blow off some steam by clubbing it up in downtown D.C. and grabbing some late-night grub at McDonald's afterward. "You just don't do anything that's going to embarrass yourself...too much," Rizzo coyly told the media while discussing how he approaches having a good time out in public. He then proudly added, "If eating McDonald's is embarrassing, you might not be American."
