WATCH: Sergio Alcantara powers out Cubs' second home run of evening |
CHICAGO — With the second home run of the evening for the Chicago Cubs, second baseman Sergio Alcantara lifted a a solo blast out to right field in the bottom of the third on Saturday. The dinger provided the Cubs with a 6-2 lead over the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field. Cubs center fielder Ian Happ smacked a two-run jack earlier in the game.
Alcantara's second homer of the season, the 383-footer came with two outs. Reliever Jake Woodford gave up the long ball on a 92.6-mph sinker, which was driven off the bat at 107.4 mph and 22 degrees. Alcantara, who was recently added to the Cubs' active roster, now has four RBIs on the year.
