Mychal signed a one-year major league contract with the Cubs on March 23, 2022, after he spent the 2021 season with Colorado and Cincinnati... Owns a career 25-20 record with a 3.41 ERA (150 ER/396.1 IP), 29 saves and 77 holds more than 360 major league relief appearances... Has spent the majority of his career with Baltimore (2015- 20), but has also seen time in Colorado (2020-21) and Cincinnati (2021)... From 2016-21, Givens was tied for 10th among all major league relievers with 23 wins, 11th with 428 strikeouts and 15th with 338 appearances... Has pitched in 50-plus games in every full season since 2016, including 60-or-more from 2016-18... Since debuting in 2015, is one of three relievers (also Aroldis Chapman and Raisel Iglesias) to hold right-handed hitters under a .200 average (min. 900 AB) during that span (.194)... Led all Orioles relievers in strikeouts for four-straight seasons from 2016-19 ... his nine saves in 2018 and 11 in 2019 were also team-highs... Won a gold medal with Team USA in the World Baseball Classic in 2017... Was selected by Baltimore as a shortstop in the second round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft... 2021
Mychal split the 2021 season between Colorado and Cincinnati, going a combined 4-3 with a 3.35 ERA (19 ER/51.0 IP) and eight saves in 54 games... Began the season with Colorado, pitching to a 2.73 ERA (9 ER/29.2 IP) in 31 games... Was traded from Colorado to Cincinnati on July 28 for RHPs Noah Davis and Case Williams... Although he did not join the Reds until July 29, finished the campaign tied for the club lead in saves (8)... Recorded a 1.13 ERA 93 ER/24.0 IP) in 24 road games... In his final 37 games beginning on May 22, posted a 3.06 ERA (12 ER/35.1 IP) with 37 strikeouts... Did not allow a run over 12 consecutive appearances (12.1 IP) from July 21-Aug. 20.

2020
Acquired by the Rockies via trade with the Baltimore Orioles on Aug. 30 in exchange for Minor League infielders Tyler Nevin and Terrin Vavra and Minor League outfielder Mishael Deson...Made 22 total appearances between the two clubs, going 1-1 with one save and a 3.63 ERA (22.1 IP, 9 ER)...Appeared in 12 games with Baltimore prior to the trade, allowing two runs across 13 innings (1.38 ER)…recorded 10 straight scoreless appearances to begin the season...Recorded his lone win of the season in his first appearance with the Rockies on Sept. 2 vs. San Francisco after tossing a scoreless seventh inning...Scored upon five times in 10 games with the Rockies, posting a 6.75 ERA (9.1 IP, 7 ER)…allowed four home runs...Secured his first save of the season on Sept. 20 vs. Los Angeles-NL, getting the final out with the tying run at the plate in the Rockies’ 6-3 win.
