Roster Moves: Cubs reduce spring roster to 36 players

MESA – The Chicago Cubs today reduced the spring roster from 37 to 36 players.

Left-handed pitcher Edwin Escobar has been assigned to minor league camp.

Chicago’s spring roster of 36 players consists of 17 pitchers (which includes one non-roster invitee), four catchers (two non-roster invitees), eight infielders (two non-roster invitees), six outfielders (one non-roster invitee) and one infielder/outfielder.
