Cubs News: Ryan Tepera, David Ross suspended for intentionally throwing at Brandon Woodruff |
Chicago Cubs pitcher Ryan Tepera has received a three-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for intentionally throwing at Brandon Woodruff of the Milwaukee Brewers in the bottom of the fifth inning of Tuesday’s game at American Family Field in Milwaukee. Michael Hill, Major League Baseball’s Senior Vice President for On-Field Operations, made the announcement.
The suspension of Tepera had been scheduled to begin on Friday, when the Cubs are to host the Atlanta Braves at Wrigley Field. However, Tepera has elected to appeal. Thus, the discipline will be held in abeyance until the process is complete. In addition, Cubs manager David Ross has received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for Tepera’s intentional throwing. Ross will serve his suspension on Friday.
