ATLANTA — Leading off the seventh inning with a solo shot, Chicago Cubs center fielder Jake Marisnick increased the North Siders' lead over the Atlanta Braves to 7-2 on Thursday. Marisnick took Braves reliever Nate Jones deep on an 87.7-mph slider, sending it out to left at Truist Park.

Marisnick's second homer of the season, the long ball traveled 412 feet after leaving the bat at 99.3 mph and 36 degrees. Jones knew the ball was gone as soon as it left the bat, with Marisnick making perfect contact and sending a high drive into the left field seats.
