WATCH: Javier Baez crushes three-run jack |
CHICAGO — In the same inning that Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras hit his second home run of the game, Cubs shortstop Javier Baez walloped a three-run blast to give the Cubs a commanding 6-0 lead atop the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. Baez smacked the third dinger of the game by lofting an 84.4-mph slider out to left at Wrigley field.
Starter Huascar Ynoa got taken deep for the third time on the afternoon, with Javy's three-run bomb in the bottom of the third carrying 385 feet into the bleachers. The long ball left Baez's bat at 105.5 mph and 27 degrees, scoring third baseman Kris Bryant and left fielder Joc Pederson. "El Mago" has now hit four homers on the season.
