WATCH: Joc Pederson puts Cubs on board with towering round-tripper |
PITTSBURGH – Continuing to hit the ball well in the month of May, Chicago Cubs left fielder Joc Pederson lifted a towering solo shot out to right field at PNC Park on Tuesday. The third-inning dinger put the Cubs on the board, trimming the Pittsburgh Pirates' lead to 3-1.
On a full count, starter Cody Ponce delivered an 85.3-mph changeup over the plate, and Pederson sent it into the seats. Pederson's third home run of the year sported plenty of hang time after leaving the bat at a steep launch angle of 39 degrees. The 368-footer had an exit velocity of 102.5 mph. Pederson now has 13 RBIs in his first season with the Cubs.
