Chase Claypool will not be with Bears this week |
Things are escalating fast between the Chicago Bears and receiver Chase Claypool.
Claypool will not play against the Washington Commanders on Thursday as he will not be at Halas Hall this week. "He is not going to be in the building this particular week on this short week," Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said on "The Kap and J Hood Show" on ESPN 1000 on Monday. "I can give you that." Claypool was on the inactive list as a healthy scratch for Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos. “We obviously evaluate meetings, ee evaluate walk-throughs, we evaluate practice and then we declare actives or inactives based on that,” Eberflus said on Sunday. “And this week, Claypool was inactive.” He has three catches on 14 targets for 51 yards and a touchdown this season. It appears that the Bears might cut ties with Claypool soon as he could be traded or straight released if they can't find a way for him to produce on the field. The Chicago Bears Chase Claypool was a healthy scratch yesterday and will also be one on Thursday Night. #Bears HC Matt Eberflus got nearly 20 straight questions to open his presser today about what's happening with Chase Claypool.
