This coming Tuesday, Eloy Jimenez will get the opportunity to make his Wrigley Field debut, something Cubs fans have been waiting for this day since he burst onto the scene as a top prospect in 2016. I pretty much agree that it has helped both teams. Gave the Cubs some stability for several years in their rotation at a fairly decent price and gave the White Sox fans some hope for the future with those prospects.
One of the keys to the trade was that Kyle Schwarber was valued very highly by the Cubs organization so they felt that Jimenez was expendable with the logjam in the outfield.
In a few years, the trade will become more obvious how it worked out with the progression of Jimenez and Cease.
