Commentary: Has the Cubs trade deadline focus shifted?

As the trade deadline nears (tomorrow), the Cubs, once thought to be ready to make a splash, seem to have settled for a few faint ripples in the water.

I guess sometimes the best trade is the one you don't make...

Its simple..no one wants anything the Cubs have to offer....and my prediction way back before season started of the Cubs goin 84-78 is on pace...and start of a few years of non playoff baseball

Take heart the more the Cubs suck ..better chance of the farm system building up, our only hope

It is time to get out the DVD of the 2016 World Series and relax for another 100 years....

I wouldn't go that far to say there we could be on the verge of a couple years of non playoff Baseball. Your 84 and 78 production for this year could be accurate but this team is too talented to go multiple years of all making the playoffs if they miss the playoffs there will be some major house cleaning especially in the coaching staff and bringing in a new and more up-to-date manager could be the trick to get them back on pace

LOL...on saying Cubs have nothing that other teams want. I doubt the Cubs are willing to trade their good players. It's not a flea market or yard sale situation where everything must go.
