Jesus Aguilar's officially the chillest derby competitor ever. He's taking his sweet time like it's BP. Hang time not working in his favor. #1 seed close to being knocked out in the 1st round.

Here's what interesting. Under old derby format, Aguilar very well might win. Slugger with a lot of power & an easy swing who doesn't tire out. With no time limit, no telling how many he hits. However, with time limit, his easy swing, slow mechanics & long hang time hinder him. Therefore, Prince Fielder probably wouldn't have won 2 of these under current format.

Astros 3B Alex Bregman shows that skinny dudes can hit homers, too. Comes up short on final swing to finish 1 behind Schwarber. Hits 15 long balls. Last hit bounces off wall in deep left-center. Schwarber moves on.

Javy in danger of getting knocked out. Has only 6 hit homers with 2 minutes left. Has already secured bonus time with 479-ft. bomb, though. Calls TO to try to rejuvenate himself. His brother's pitching to him & not doing the best job. A lot of high pitches.

Got to think Harper has the advantage based on less swings and going last

A couple more in extra time for Schwarbs. He's drenched in sweat. He's definitely taken way more big swings than Harper. Hits 453-footer for his longest one of the final. Finishes with 18 homers. Harper coming up to bat with championship on the line. Nats fans will definitely be behind him.

Schwarber hit a grand total of 55, the most by any player in the competition. So (technically) he's a champion in his own right.

Worth pointing out that Harper's dad didn't really wait until a lot of his home runs landed before throwing the next pitch. Conspiracy by MLB to let Harper win in order to add to All-Star week excitement, perhaps?
