Another familiar face is back on the Northside.

Veteran outfielder Cameron Maybin has signed with the Chicago Cubs on a minor-league deal with an invitation to spring training, according to multiple reports.

The deal is pending a physical.

Maybin is very versatile as he can play all three outfield positions as the Cubs don't really have a ton of outfield depth right now.

This is a solid move and he might be able to win a roster spot out of spring training if he hits well and stays healthy.

He was a valuable clubhouse presence last season and hit .250 with five extra-base hits, three stolen bases, and five RBIs in 18 games (56 at-bats total).

The 14-year veteran has hit .256 overall during his career.
