Colin Rea to start for Cubs against Brewers

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs have to do some shuffling in their rotation after Tyler Chatwood was out with back tighness on Friday.

Alec Mills replaced him yesterday and now Colin Rea will get the start on Saturday despite not being stretched out as a starter.

"I think the plan right now is Colin Rea to start tomorrow and see how Tyler (Chatwood) checks out and see if Monday is an option," David Ross told the media Friday night.

It will be Rea's first start since July 30, 2016.

For the season in three innings, Rea has given up only one hit and registered three strikeouts.

Likely he will pitch for a few innings and then the bullpen will try to take it the rest of the way on Saturday against the Brew Crew.
