Ian Happ wins his arbitration case with Cubs

by - Senior Editor -

It's all HAPPening for one young star.

Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ has reportedly won his arbitration case with the ballclub in 2021, according to multiple reports.

Happ will reportedly make $4.1 million this season as the Cubs had filed previously for a lower amount at $3.25 million.

The 26-year-old outfielder hit .258 with 12 homers and 28 RBIs last season.

He filled a void at the top of the lineup, and it's not a stunner that he walked away winning the higher amount of salary. The salary is a 26 percent improvement on what the Cubs were offering. Not bad if you can get it.

Cubs manager David Ross has already sent during media sessions this spring that Happ is likely back as the leadoff man in 2021.

The Cubs payroll is now roughly around $163 million in total.
