Cubs News: Rizzo sells South Florida home, upgrades to $4.5 million mansion

CubsHQ Staff -

Chicago Cubs first baseman, Anthony Rizzo recently sold his South Florida home for a hefty price of $2 million, according to the Los Angeles Times. Rizzo had originally purchased the mansion in 2013 after signing his $41 million contract extension, for $1.83 million. The mansion, located at 6747 Northwest 63rd Way, near posh Boca Rotan, is 5,800 square feet and features a batting cage and steam room. Perfect for those off season practice sessions.

Rizzo purchased a $4.5 million mansion in Ft Lauderdale earlier this year. Boca Raton and Ft Lauderdale are not too far from each other, roughly 30 minutes apart.

However, Ft Lauderdale has a reputation for hosting a younger, artsier crowd.

Now that Rizzo is engaged to be married to Emily Vakos and the two are looking to create their own space as a family and ditching his Florida bachelor pad is a move in the right direction.

We wish the couple the best in their new South Florida home.
