WATCH: Bote slams game-tying two-run bomb in the ninth inning |
CHICAGO — Making the most of his start on Thursday afternoon, Chicago Cubs infielder David Bote jacked a game-tying two-run bomb in the bottom of the ninth to save the game for the Cubs.
Capping off a five-run comeback for the Cubs that tied them up with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Bote crushed a 417-foot bomb over the wall in center field to plate Ben Zobrist and make the score 6-6. A 417-foot blast that left the bat at 105 miles per hour, Bote's second career big-league home run came on an 0-2 count against Brad Boxberger. Bote, who also pulled off several impressive defensive plays earlier in the game, earned a curtain call for the clutch hit. ??
