WATCH: Willson Contreras emphatically flips his bat after hitting single |
CHICAGO — Serving as the Chicago Cubs' designated hitter on the day,
Willson Contreras was excited after hitting a single with men on base in the bottom of the fifth on Monday. Contreras plated two runs via his base knock, which he celebrated with an emphatic bat flip.
Javier Baez and Kyle Schwarber crossed the plate as a result of the single to left, putting the Cubs up 5-0 over the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field. Although a bat flip on a single is a rare sight, a two-run base knock against a heated rival definitely warrants a base flip.
