CHICAGO — In a matter of weeks, Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Yu Darvish has completely changed his public persona from that of a stone-faced, incredibly serious person to a social-media jokester. Since the Cubs' 2019 season ended, Darvish has shut down a Twitter troll with a hilarious remark involving fried chicken and has also poked fun at Houston Astros ace Justin Verlander over an on-field gaffe.

Darvish recently used his newfound comedic chops to clown on a teammate. Not long after making light of Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo winning a Gold Glove Award by claiming that he consistently bailed Rizzo out by covering first base, Darvish hilariously imitated Rizzo's trademark batting stance. While wearing jeans in a batting cage, Darvish perfectly impersonated Rizzo's approach at the plate, making for a viral Instagram video.
