The Cubs are 2016 National League Central champions with the Giants 6-2 win over the Cardinals on Thursday night.

Chicago captured their first National League Central title since 2008 and clinched after 146 games which is the earliest for an MLB team since the Angels in 2008.

This is the third time since 1903 that the Cubs have advanced to the postseason in consecutive years.
