Epstein says the Cubs won't be trading Schwarber

Kyle Schwarber is currently rehabbing full-time with full tears of his right ACL and LCL. The injury occurred during an outfield collision with center fielder Dexter Fowler in Arizona on April 7.

Cubs president Theo Epstein wanted to quash all the rumors and reports of a possible Schwarber trade to the Yankees.

“I’m looking forward to Kyle Schwarber — who got hurt in a Cubs uniform and is working his ass off in a Cubs uniform — coming back and hitting a very big home run in a Cubs uniform sometime very early next season,” Epstein said to reporters on Thursday.

In 2015, Schwarber hit .246 with 16 home runs, 43 RBIs with an outstanding .842 OPS in only 69 games (273 at-bats) in his rookie season.
