Cubs veteran pitcher Jon Lester spoke to reporters on Friday and said that getting the ball in game one for the National League Championship Series against the Dodgers is a great honor for him.

"Obviously for me, it's a great honor, especially with the staff that we have," Lester said to reporters. "It's a huge honor, especially for an organization like this, to get the ball again and try to go out and give us a good start, like last time, and give us a chance to win."

Lester has an impressive career 2.63 ERA with seven wins in the postseason. He had a 2.44 ERA with a 19-5 record with 197 strikeouts and a sparkling 1.02 WHIP this season.

Cubs pitching trio of Jon Lester, Kyle Hendricks, and Jake Arrieta pitched 30 innings against the Dodgers and only gave up 12 hits and three earned runs in 2016.
