Cubs News: Five players announced out against Vikings

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Bears are the walking wounded, especially in the running back room.

The team announced their Friday injury report and five players were listed as out with starting running back Khail Herbert (ankle), running back Travis Homer (hamstring), running back Roschon Johnson (concussion), defensive back Terell Smith (ankle/illness) and receiver Equanimeous St. Brown (hamstring).

Bears head coach Matt Eberful has not decided yet if Herbert will be placed on the IR.

Veteran running back D'Onta Foreman is expected to start on Sunday and have a heavy workload. He has five carries for 16 yards this season.

Last season, he ran for a career-best 914 yards and five touchdowns with the Carolina Panthers.

"There's a ton to like," Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy said recently of Foreman. "His play style, his downhill running, his violent, explosive gains. So, we're excited to see what he can put out there this week."

Some good news regarding injuries as defensive backs Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon didn't carry an injury designation so they are likely full-go for the game.

Gordon is on the injured reserve, so there will likely be a roster move before Saturday at 3 p.m. CT.

Veterans Eddie Jackson and Lucas Patrick are both listed as questionable with their injures.

The Bears and the Vikings will face off on Sunday at noon CT from Soldier Field.
