LOS ANGELES — After drawing two quick outs to begin the game, Los Angeles Dodgers starter Walker Buehler gave up a two-out jack to Javier Baez in the top of the first on Thursday. The 401-foot blast came on a 1-2 count, with Baez driving a 401-footer over the wall in center field.

Baez's 17th home run of the season, the solo dinger at Dodger Stadium provided "El Mago" with his 46th RBI of 2021. Buehler offered up a 96.1-mph four-seamer, and Baez smoked it out of the park at 105.2 mph, placing the Cubs ahead of the Dodgers by the score of 1-0. The long ball sported a launch angle of 23 degrees.
