Bears reportedly having conversations about hiring Jim Harbaugh |
The Chicago Bears are doing their due diligence if they decide to fire head coach Matt Eberflus at some point.
The Athletics' Dianna Russini is reporting that the Bears have had conversations about hiring Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh. "Absolutely, ever since Jim left the NFL, his name is always in the mix," Russini said on a recent appearance on 'The Herd with Colin Cowherd'. "But it certainly has heated up a lot more over the last week or so, so let's just start with Carolina. "The Chicago Bears are another organization I have heard has had some conversations about that, depending on what decision they make with this coaching staff that is in place and of course, what they do with that quarterback situation. "Burt Jim is certainly a name that is respected in league circles in the NFL. Ownership is definitely, obviously very interested in what he could bring back to the NFL. "So i certainly think this is going to just continue as we get close to the end of the NFL regular season, when ownership can start beginning that process of the coaching search." The Bears have a 4-8 record and still have a slim shot of making the playoffs. It should be interesting to see if they stick with the current staff or blow it all up in the offseason. According to @DMRussini the Chicago Bears “have had some conversations” regarding the possible hiring of Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh. A return to the #NFL seems probable.
