Ryan Poles talks 2024 NFL Draft

by - Senior Editor -

Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles has revamped his team, and they aim to improve their wins significantly in 2024.

One of the easiest ways for a team to improve is through the draft.

Poles is fine with only four picks in the upcoming draft since he got veteran receiver Kennan Allen and offensive lineman Ryan Bates via trades this offseason.

“The way this is set up and [with] some of the draft capital we’ve been able to create in the first two years, I feel pretty comfortable about it,” Poles told ESPN. “It’ll be boring if we don’t do any trades, but I feel pretty good about where we’re at.”

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus believes they will get two elite prospects with the No. 1 and No. 9 pick.

“We’re going to get a ‘blue’ [the highest-rated prospect by how the team color codes its draft board] player there for sure,” Eberflus said. “What we’ve done in free agency allows us to be flexible, to really be able to take the best player, the one we feel fits for us in that spot.”

It should be fun to watch what Poles has been cooking for the draft, as he seems to know what he is doing more than some of the Bears brass in the past.
