Cubs News: Injury updates on Cody Bellinger, Seiya Suzuki

Reinforcements are coming soon for the Northsiders.

Chicago Cubs outfielders Cody Bellinger and Seiya Suzuki are expected back as soon as next week according to Cubs manager Craig Counsell.

"Belli is a little ahead of Suzuki," Counsell said during Saturday's pregame against the Brewers. "We're going through baseball activities, making sure they feel good coming out of that and then progressing."

"Next week is realistic for both of them," Counsell said of Bellinger and Suzuki.

In other roster news, Cubs first baseman Matter Mervis was optioned to Triple-A Iowa, and utility infielder Miles Mastrobuoni was called up on Saturday.
