WATCH: Generous kid at Cubs game gives foul ball away to another kid |
Generosity and selflessness are not attributes that are typically associated with today's youth in America, but a young Chicago Cubs fan provided a glimmer of hope for the future with a display of compassion at Wrigley Field on Tuesday. In the matchup between the Cubs and the visiting Philadelphia Phillies, a kindhearted kid helped make another little boy's night special by choosing altruism over greed.
After being gifted a foul ball by an on-field attendant, the charitable youngster was handed another foul ball by an adult fan, who, evidently, did not notice that the boy had already garnered a souvenir baseball. Therefore, instead of cashing in on the instance of dumb luck, the benevolent adolescent spotted a nearby Cub-loving kid without a foul ball in his possession. The noble exchange then took place, with the magnanimous Cubs supporter furnishing the gracious Cubs supporter with a foul ball of his own, thereby embodying the spirit of the Friendly Confines moniker. This is why I love the game Of Baseball. When the kid says, “I don’t need it, I got one.” ??#EverybodyIn @Cubs pic.twitter.com/ExZHHZdlQH
