CHICAGO — With his second and the Chicago Cubs' fourth home run of the day, third baseman Patrick Wisdom went yard in the bottom of the sixth on Monday, increasing the North Siders' lead over the San Diego Padres to 6-2. Reliever Tim Hill gave up the sixth-inning solo blast on a 93.1-mph sinker.
Wisdom's first home run of the game was a 423-foot blast that ricocheted off the Wrigley Field batter's eye in center field. His second was a towering blast that was lifted off the bat at 36 degrees. The dinger to right-center provided Wisdom with his first career multi-homer performance. Wisdom's third homer of the season, the 391-footer sported an exit velocity of 103.5 mph.
