Anthony Rizzo believes Cubs can re-sign Bryant, Baez and himself: "Absolutely they can" |
Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo is leading his team currently to a first-place standing in the National League Central division.
Javy Baez, Kris Bryant, and Rizzo are back to their All-Star ways in 2021 as the Cubs offense has been much better than last season. Rizzo spoke to the media during Saturday's pre-game and was asked if he thought that the ballclub could re-sign himself, Baez and Bryant financially. “If they want to, absolutely they can,” Rizzo said. “The game is thriving with all the TV deals, the revenue. If that’s their out and it’s time to go, so be it. Rizzo understands that he will be asked this a lot in the coming months, and it's not his decision. “I just think it’s so out of our control. I know this question is going to be asked now, and at the All-Star break, and at the trade deadline, and into September and October. But it’s really out of our control. Just do what’s best for yourself, what’s best for the next guy coming up, for the game, and for your own mindset.”
