DETROIT — On the day after he was activated off the 10-day injured list, Chicago Cubs center fielder Ian Happ skied his third home run of the year. Happ went yard as part of a three-run sixth inning against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday. The two-out solo blast put the Cubs up 5-0 at Comerica Park.
Tigers starter Matthew Boyd was tagged on a 90.6-mph four-seamer, which the switch-hitting Happ drove out to right field while batting from the right side of the plate. Happ's opposite field dinger, which was the third hit of the contest for Happ, traveled 355 feet after leaving the bat at 98.5 mph and 30 degrees. .@ihapp_1’s 3rd hit of the day caps a 3-run 6th!#CubTogether pic.twitter.com/1O9ZeLD9B1 355-foot oppo-?? from @ihapp_1! pic.twitter.com/8zI6O0BlFJ #Cubs 5 @ #Tigers 0 [T6-2o]:
