WATCH: Jason Heyward goes all out, makes difficult catch in right field

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — On Wednesday night, Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward elicited cheers at Wrigley Field by running in and laying out for a nice grab. He repeated the feat on Friday afternoon, robbing St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Tommy Edman of a hit by hauling in a sliding catch in right field with the Cubs winning 4-2.

Starter Kyle Hendricks appreciatively acknowledged Heyward after "J-Hey" pulled off the web gem in the top of the sixth. Heyward tumbled across the grass after dropping down in order to catch the baseball. Despite making hard contact with the ground, Heyward kept the ball in his glove, recording the second out of what ended up as a scoreless inning.
