WATCH: Patrick Wisdom slugs go-ahead leadoff jack |
CHICAGO — Putting the Chicago Cubs on top of the Milwaukee Brewers not long after a lengthy rain delay, third baseman Patrick Wisdom led off the bottom of the fourth with a go-ahead jack on Tuesday night. The solo shot carried 391 feet out to right-center at Wrigley Field, making the score 1-0.
Reliever John Curtiss gave up the blast, Wisdom's 17th long ball of the season. The homer came on an 88.1-mph slider and left the bat at 102.5 mph and 30 degrees. The rookie now has 34 RBIs on the year. Coincidentally, Wisdom also collected the go-ahead RBI to place the Cubs up 1-0 in the opener of the doubleheader earlier in the day.
