Fields finished the contest completing 24 passes out of 37 attempts for 216 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

He spoke with the media following the game and wanted to apologize to the Bears fans who were looking for the team to have a better outcome against their rival.

"It sucks. It sucks. Rivalry, week one, going against the Packers, it sucks," Fields said. "Nobody’s in good spirits. This one hurts. I’m not going to lie to you. I want to say sorry to the teammates and all of the fans that are rooting for us. "We will bounce back. We will be good."
