Chicago Sports HQ Podcast: Cubs winning with injuries, Cubs minors, Bears free agency |
On this week's episode of Chicago Sports HQ Chatter, Cole and I spend most of the time covering baseball, as that is the bulk of Chicago sports right now.
The Cubs continue to play well despite dealing with so many injury issues. What has been the biggest reason for their resurgence, and what does the signing of Dee Gordon mean for this team. After being swept by the Yankees over the weekend, the White Sox have bounced back to take a pair of games from the Cardinals. Cole and I look at their recent stretch of games while also discussing the Cubs minor league system and what is going on the farm. Speaking of baseball, the NCAA conference tournaments are underway where Notre Dame has a shot to not only make the NCAA tournament but has a shot at winning the whole thing. We briefly touch on their upcoming matchup with Virginia Tech and just how good they have been this season. There isn't much going on in terms of Chicago Bears news, but the Bears are expressing some interest in Bashaud Breeland. How would his signing impact this defense, and what could the defense become by adding him to the mix? The Chicago Fire managed to pick up their first win of the season, although it wasn't pretty. We dive into that match and discuss what needs to change heading into the international break. Cole and I close out the show by discussing the NHL, NBA, and WNBA as things are slow right now. We touch base on just a couple of minor news tidbits and focus on what the future holds for all three organizations.
