Sad news to report today.

Police announced that former Chicago Bears running back Marion Barber III died of heat stroke. Reportedly, the temperature in the hotel room that he was leasing was at 91 degrees with the heat on.

Barber was known to work out in sauna-like conditions so that might have been the reasoning behind the high temp.

The Frisco (TX) police said in a statement that they have ruled Barber's death an accident. He was found dead in his apartment in Frisco, Texas, after a welfare check on June 1.

Barber played with the Bears during the 2011 season.

"We are saddened to learn of the passing of former Bears RB Marion Barber III," the Bears said in a statement recently. "Our hearts go out to his family & friends."

Barber finished his NFL career with 4,780 yards and 53 rushing touchdowns.
